Update on reopening school for students:
Electricity has been restored at school;
-The lift station is not working at this time, so that means we do not have a working sewer system;
-There is no working internet or phone systems at this time.
This is what we need to reopen school as soon as possible:
-We need a way to pump the sewer system. We are working with several companies to address the sewage issue. However, if anyone has or knows of a septic system company willing to pump our lift station until repairs can be made, please let us know. (Mitch McNeely: [email protected])
-We need a Starlink system for internet until our internet service is restored.
-We need donations of bottled water.
We are hoping that we will be able to reopen school for students on Thursday. We will provide daily communication regarding the reopening of school. We understand that our families have many different needs, and please rest assured that we are working to develop plans that will meet the needs of all students.
When we are able to reopen school for students:
-Bottled Water will be provided for all students;
-Food and snacks will be available daily for students;
-Bus routes to Polk County and Rutherford County are open for regular pick up stops and no changes have been made;
-Hendersonville bus stops - Edneyville, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Davita-will operate. These buses will travel on Interstate 26 to reach LLCA.
-Chimney Rock & Bat Cave - no buses will operate;
-Washer & dryer available at school for use;
-A remote learning plan is being developed for students who cannot attend school in person due to road closures;
