About Us
Celebrating its 16th year, Lake Lure Classical Academy is a kindergarten through 12th-grade tuition-free public charter school that is open to all North Carolina students. We offer free bus transportation. We have over 400 students attending from across four counties.
On Thursday, March 19th, 18 of our high school students traveled to Western Carolina University to compete in a district math competition. They faced off against nearly 300 students representing 18 high schools across the region.
We are especially proud of sophomore Davis Young, who earned 5th place in his division for Math 2. Davis will advance to the state competition at the end of April.
Thanks to a generous grant from The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, the Raptor Center at Lake Lure Classical Academy was recently transformed into a galaxy!
The Outdoor Education Committee led teachers on a hike through our snow-covered campus trails. Along the way, Mrs. Warner, Mr. Calhoun, and Mrs. Baird shared hands-on lessons about the natural resources available right here on our school grounds—reminding us that outdoor learning is a year-round part of life at LLCA.
Mrs. Carpenter's 6th grade class has been learning all about circuits! Yesterday they used their knowledge of electrical currents to make their own parallel and series circuits. With a battery, some aluminum foil, and a light bulb, their bright ideas came to life!
